NEW ORGANICS RECYCLING REQUIREMENTS STARTING JANUARY 1, 2022
Starting January 1, 2022, Azusa's trash collection and recycling services will change to comply with SB 1383 which requires ALL Californians to recycle organics waste. Acceptable organics waste includes green waste, 100% fiber-based food soiled paper, and food scraps. In the coming weeks, the City of Azusa and Athens Services, the City's franchised hauler, will be providing additional outreach and communications regarding the transition. Among the new changes include the following:

In addition to helping the City comply with SB 1383, Athens Services will provide street sweeping, downtown porter services, bus stop maintenance services at no additional cost to the City or ratepayers.
