SB1383 - Residential

Single-Family Residential: 

If you live in a single-family residence (4 units or fewer)

Changes effective January 1, 2022

•     Collection service changed from manual hand-tossed to automated collection.

•     Athens Services will provide three 96-gallon containers (black for trash, blue for recycling, green for organics waste).

•     Contact Athens at 888-336-6100 or AthensServices.com/Bulky to schedule a bulky waste pickup 24 hours before your trash day.

•     Customer Service and billing are now handled by Athens Services instead of Azusa Light & Water.

•     Trash billing changed to quarterly billing instead of monthly billing.

 Single-Family residents must sort their waste properly, not putting organic material (food, paper, yard waste, etc.) in the black or blue carts. Only clear or transparent bags are allowed when placing bagged food waste in their green cart.

Multi-Family with 5 Units or More:

If you live in an apartment/multi-family residence (5 units or more)

Changes effective January 1, 2022

•     Collection service consists of bins for mixed waste & recycling and green carts for organic materials.

•     Contact Athens at 888-336-6100 or AthensServices.com/Bulky to schedule a bulky waste pickup 24 hours before your trash day. Place bulky items scheduled for collection on the property’s designated area for trash collection. Please do not block or restrict areas to the bins.

•     Customer Service and billing are now handled by Athens Services instead of Azusa Light & Water.

•     Monthly trash billing will be issued to a single responsible party, i.e. property manager, owner, or HOA.

Apartment/Multi-family residents must sort their waste properly, not putting organic material (food, paper, yard waste, etc.) in their mixed waste bins. Only clear or transparent bags are allowed when placing bagged food waste in their green cart.
