Azusa Light & Water’s Privacy Policy/Terms
Azusa Light & Water (ALW) is legally bound to ensure and maintain the privacy and confidentiality of customer data.
ALW Information Collected:
Azusa Light & Water (ALW) will make every reasonable effort to protect your privacy. It restricts access to your personal information to those employees that will respond to your request. ALW does not intentionally disclose any personal information about our users to any third parties except as required by law.
ALW only collects personal information for the purpose of providing service and all information requested is required. You can decline to provide us with any personal information on any site on the Internet at any time. However, if you should choose to withhold requested information, we may not be able to provide you with the online services dependent upon the collection of that information. Azusa Light & Water collects customer information based on the business relationship and the use of City of Azusa municipal services.
Some examples include:
- Contact information such as name, address, telephone number and email address;
- Billing and payment information;
- Driver’s License and Social Security Number;
- Electric and water usage data; and
- Information about customer participation in utility programs or services, such as energy or water efficiency programs or services.
Access to personal information in public records at state and local levels of government in Los Angeles is controlled primarily by the California Public Records Act (Government Code Section 6250). While the Public Records Act sets the general policies for access to Azusa Light & Water records, other sections of California code as well as federal laws also deal with confidentiality issues.
Azusa Light & Water Outbound Call, SMS, and Email Terms of Service
ALW Terms of Service for cellphone carrier use:
When registering for the online customer portal online or within the mobile phone application you are automatically authorizing and will be immediately opted-in to receive outbound calls and SMS text service, we will send you a text message to confirm your enrollment.
You may request to opt-out of the outbound calling and/or cancel the SMS service at any time, and we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed from the requested service.
If you wish to re-enroll for the SMS service, you may sign up within the online customer portal and we will start sending SMS messages to you again.
Participating carriers: Alltel, AT&T, Metro PCS, Cricket, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, Sprint, Google Voice, Boost, Virgin Mobile and Verizon Wireless (may be subjected to change at any time). Voice call, message, and data rates may apply for any call and/or messages sent to you from us and to us from you. If you have any questions about your phone plan, text plan, or data plan, contact your wireless provider.
ALW Terms of Service for Emails:
Email addresses obtained through the website or mobile phone application will not be sold or given to other private companies for marketing purposes. The information collected is subject to the access and confidentiality provisions of the Public Records Act, other applicable sections of the California code as well as federal laws. Email or other information requests sent to the ALW’s website may be maintained in order to respond to the request, forward that request to the appropriate department within ALW, or to provide the ALW management with valuable customer feedback to assist in improving operations. The e-mail address provided will be automatically opted-in to receive Azusa Light and Water paperless billing statements and any and all utility related correspondence which will include but will not be limited to informational and marketing e-mails and notifications. You can cancel any communications received through e-mail at any time by contacting ALW directly.

By accessing this Website or by downloading the mobile application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and accepted the following terms. In case you do not understand or agree to any of the terms, you should immediately exit this Website or immediately delete and discard the mobile application. Azusa Light & Water reserves the right to update the Terms and Conditions at any time without notice to you.

ALW is not responsible for any special, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages that may arise from the use of, or the inability to use, the site and/or the materials contained on the site whether the materials contained on the site are provided by the ALW, or a third party.
