Unused Prescription Drugs

Overview

Unused prescription and over-the-counter medications that are put in drains or flushed down the toilet pollute the environment. Please dispose of the unused portions properly by taking them to a household hazardous waste collection center or event, any “Safe Drug Drop-Off” Sheriff station locations, or put them in a sturdy, securely sealed container, and then in the trash where children and animals cannot reach them.

In case of overdose or accidental poisoning, call the poison center at 1-800-222-1222, 24 hours a day. For more information on proper disposal, please visit No Drugs Down the Drain or call 1-888-CLEAN LA.

Call Refuse Hotline (626) 812-5198 regarding trash complaints or recycling matters.
