These scammers are articulate and look the part and can convince unsuspecting homeowner to let them in. Once inside, the imposter distracts the homeowner while an accomplice steals valuables. Recently, there have been several reported incidents about these scammers who target mostly the elderly.

Utility workers rarely go to customer’s door unannounced, so if they do:

• Make sure you ask for photo ID
• Look for a vehicle with ALW logo on it
• Call ALW office at (626) 812-5225 to verify
• Do not give personal information
• Do not give cash

If something seems off or suspicious, call the police.
