The California Independent System Operator (ISO) has extended the statewide Flex Alert to Wednesday, August 19th. Everyone is encouraged to conserve energy from 3 PM to 10 PM to relieve stress on the power grid caused by the persistent heatwave. There are no rotating power outages anticipated in Azusa at this time.

Azusa Light & Water encourages its customers to conserve electricity, especially during the late afternoon and early evening, when the grid is most stressed due to higher demand and solar energy production falling. Costumers are also asked to turn off unnecessary lights, use major appliances before 3 p.m. and after 10 p.m., and set air conditioner thermostats to 78 degrees or higher.
