Why is my water discolored?: Most discoloration is caused by rusty pipes. If there has been some work done on your street recently, it is possible that rust has broken away from within increasing discoloration, Just run the water until the water is clear and this should solve the problem. 1. What is my water pressure?: Water pressure fluctuates according to what part of the City you live in. If you need to know what your water pressure is, please call our office at (626) 812-5225 during office hours and we can send a representative to check your meter.

2. Where is my water meter?: The water meter is generally located out towards the front of the property near the sidewalk. It is enclosed in a concrete box with a removable reading lid. In some instances, the meter may be located at the back of the property in an alley way. It is important to keep the box free from trash and overgrown plants to allow for accurate reading of the meter.

3. Why do I have low water pressure?: Low water pressure can be due to old plumbing, an old water meter, or possibly lime deposits in your lines. If a service line downstream of meter is too large for the meter size, it may result in low water pressure. Numerous other problems can also result in low water pressure. If the problem is persistent, call Azusa Light & Water at (626) 812-5225 during working hours.

4. Why do I hear water running somewhere in my house?: Most of the time it is because there is a leak somewhere in your home. Check your toilets for worn out parts that cause phantom flushing, sprinkler lines for broken sections, or faulty sprinklers or timers.

5. How can I tell if there is a leak?: First, make sure everything is turned off inside and outside of your home. Then check your meter to see if the dials are moving. This will indicate if water is being used. If the meter is moving that will indicate that you do have a leak. Soft areas and extra green spots in the lawn will pinpoint a leak in the sprinkler lines. A plumber will be able to identify any broken lines you may have inside.
